In three weeks' time, a unique collection of portraits of British women who have become 'firsts' in their field will open its doors to the public for a free exhibition in London, which will then tour the country. First Women UK is the vision of South West photographer Anita Corbin, who has worked tirelessly over the last decade to create a stock of inspiring images celebrating women's achievements, launched as we mark one hundred years since women first gained the right to vote.

I have been privileged to be involved in this ground-breaking project since 2013 when Anita asked If... Media to produce a video to start spreading the word. Since then, I've written about First Women in a number of high-profile regional publications.

Last year, Anita asked If... to produce two more videos - a short trailer, used to promote the First Women UK Crowdfunder page, and a slightly longer film telling the stories of some of her trailblazing 'firsts'. I'm pictured here with one of them, Silversmith Jocelyn Burton at her studio in London.

I'm really looking forward to raising a toast to Anita and catching up with some of the amazing women we filmed at the exhibition's opening night on Thursday 19th July at the Dyson Gallery of the Royal Academy of Arts. Many of the women featured in the show will be there and you could too. In name or in person! Follow this link - before June 30th - to find out how:
