On a landmark day in the history of women's rights, one hundred years since we gained the right to vote, I am delighted to play a small role in celebrating the achievements of some very inspiring women.

Today, a short film has been released as the next chapter of photographer Anita Corbin's ground-breaking First Women UK project - capturing in portraits 100 women who have achieved a 'first' in their chosen field.

Here I am with one of those remarkable trailblazers, Dany Cotton, the first woman to hold the position of Commissioner of the London Fire Brigade. The photo was taken during an intense three day shoot in and around London last year, followed by a further day filming in Devon. Our filming took us from the Palace of Westminster to a shooting range to a dart's club to a silversmith's studio, to name just a few locations. Anita and I wanted to get on film as many inspiring role models as we possibly could!

I began working with Anita some years ago when First Women was in its infancy and she had completed around forty portraits. At the time, If... Media produced a short video interview in which Anita explained her vision for the project and what had inspired her. Now, the collection of 100 photos is complete and ready to go public.

I hope you find this trailer intriguing and eye-opening! Women have come a long way in 100 years but there is still a long way to go. If you like the film, please share it and help spread the word about the exhibition launch this summer...
